What is PA 6 G OL green?
PA 6 G OL green is a cast polyamide 6 special compound, coloured green, with internal oil lubrication. The integrated lubricating oil significantly improves sliding and wear behaviour and prevents stick-slip effects, while maintaining the high toughness of the PA6 G base material.

PA 6 G OL green in detail
1What is PA 6 G OL green?+
PA 6 G OL green is a cast polyamide 6 special compound, coloured green, with internal oil lubrication. The integrated lubricating oil significantly improves sliding and wear behaviour and prevents stick-slip effects, while maintaining the high toughness of the PA6 G base material. PA 6 G OL green is a cast, semi-crystalline polyamide with an integrated liquid lubricant. The embedded oil provides good sliding properties and reduces friction as well as stick-slip effects, without compromising the basic toughness of the PA6 G base material. Like all polyamides, PA 6 G OL green absorbs moisture from the environment; this makes the material tougher and more impact-resistant, while stiffness and dimensional stability decrease somewhat.
2How does Liedtke machine PA 6 G OL green?+
PA 6 G OL green can be machined like standard PA6 G using all conventional cutting methods; HSS or carbide tools are sufficient. Good cooling via chip removal remains important to avoid softening or smearing of the surface caused by heat build-up. For tight tolerances, we take swelling and shrinkage behaviour into account and condition the semi-finished product where required.
3When should I choose PA 6 G OL green?+
PA 6 G OL green is used wherever good sliding properties and smooth, jerk-free motion without stick-slip effects are needed, for example in mechanical engineering and conveyor technology. The green colouring also makes it easy to visually distinguish from other colour variants.
- Bearing and guide elements
- Components with stick-slip requirements
- Conveyor technology components
4What determines the price of a PA 6 G OL green part?+
PA 6 G OL green is calculated individually based on drawing or sample. The part price is mainly determined by the stock form and dimension, material utilisation (waste), machining effort and batch size. We are happy to quote binding prices on request.
5When is PA 6 G OL green not the right choice?+
Just as important are the limits of the material:
- Moisture absorption of up to 2.0 % in standard atmosphere, causing dimensional and property changes
- Not resistant to strong acids and permanently hot water (hydrolysis)
- Not generally declared for food contact (see FDA declaration)
6Advantages and disadvantages of PA 6 G OL green+
An honest assessment:
- Advantage: Internal oil lubrication for improved sliding and wear behaviour
