Construction and purpose of the coating
DuraBlack's anodized, black aluminum surface carries a multi-stage coating. It is tuned so that the laser reproduces fine lines and small text sizes cleanly and with sharp edges during engraving.
The result is a high-resolution engraving that stays legible even for small-scale markings such as scales, technical symbols or serial numbers.
