What is Aluply?
Aluply is a surface-treated aluminum developed specifically for laser-engraving nameplates and scales. It combines the light weight and stability of aluminum with a surface that produces a clear, permanently black contrast when engraved.

Properties and processing
Aluply is supplied as flat sheet stock and can be cut to customer-specific shapes and sizes at the material stage. This removes extra processing steps further down the line, allowing short lead times.
During laser engraving, the lettering visibly turns black without any need to fill or inlay the engraving afterwards. This makes Aluply particularly well suited to fine text and detailed scale graduations.
