Overview
PC antistatic is a clear polycarbonate sheet that is factory-treated on both sides with a permanently antistatic coating. Unlike migrating antistatic agents that wear off or wash out over time, this coating's dissipative effect is retained for the sheet's entire service life - surface resistivity stays permanently in the range of 106 to 109 Ω (uncoated PC: around 1016 Ω).
The base material behaves mechanically and thermally much like standard polycarbonate and remains excellently scratch resistant, chemically resistant and around 250 times more break-resistant than glass. The coating on both sides reduces light transmission compared with uncoated PC (approx. 90%) to around 70%; a factory-applied protective film shields the surface until processing.
Typical applications include electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, cleanroom technology, chemical, pharmaceutical and food processing, and protective screens, enclosures and machine access doors where electrostatic charge could endanger sensitive components.

Frequently Asked Questions about PC antistatisch
1What is PC antistatic?+
PC antistatic is a clear polycarbonate sheet with a permanently antistatic coating factory-applied on both sides, reliably dissipating electrostatic charge.
2How does Liedtke process PC antistatic?+
The material can be sawn, milled, drilled and thermoformed with standard plastic processing methods; we take care not to damage the antistatic coating on either side through overheating or abrasion.
3What determines the price of a PC antistatic cut piece?+
The price depends mainly on sheet thickness, sheet size, machining effort and quantity. We are happy to provide a binding quote based on your drawing.
4When is PC antistatic not the right choice?+
The material is not UV-stabilised and therefore not suitable for permanent outdoor weathering; the antistatic coating is also not declared for direct food contact.
