Overview
MKHP+ is an upgraded, glass-fabric-reinforced variant of melamine-faced hard paper (MKHP) per DIN 7735 / EN 60893-3-4. In addition to the phenolic-resin-impregnated paper core and the decorative melamine resin cover layers, MKHP+ contains a glass fabric reinforcement layer that significantly increases mechanical strength - while maintaining the same very high tracking resistance (CTI 600).
Compared with standard MKHP, which Liedtke also offers, the glass fabric layer noticeably increases flexural strength, tensile strength, impact strength and, in particular, compressive strength perpendicular to the laminate plane. As a trade-off, MKHP+ absorbs somewhat more moisture than standard MKHP. The decorative, light-fast melamine surface in light grey (RAL 7035) is retained.
Typical applications include mechanically higher-load insulating and partition panels in medium-voltage switchgear construction, fuse insertion plates under increased shock loading, hospital furniture and front panels in harsh industrial environments - wherever tracking resistance needs to be combined with higher mechanical load capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions about MKHP+
1What is MKHP+?+
MKHP+ is a melamine-faced hard paper with additional glass fabric reinforcement per DIN 7735 / EN 60893-3-4. It combines the very high tracking resistance (CTI 600) and decorative melamine surface of standard MKHP with significantly higher mechanical strength.
2How does Liedtke machine MKHP+?+
We saw, mill, drill and turn MKHP+ with sharp, carbide-tipped tools into dimensionally accurate precision parts. The glass fabric reinforcement calls for somewhat higher tool wear than standard MKHP; we ensure adequate dust extraction during machining.
3What determines the price of an MKHP+ part?+
The component price is determined mainly by sheet thickness, dimensions, material utilisation (offcuts), machining effort and batch size. MKHP+ is priced above standard MKHP due to the additional glass fabric layer. We are happy to provide binding prices on request based on your drawing.
4When is MKHP+ not the right choice?+
MKHP+ is not declared for direct food contact, and it is not designed for continuous use above approximately 120 °C. If increased mechanical load capacity is not required, the more economical standard MKHP is sufficient; as a thermoset, MKHP+ also cannot be reshaped or welded.
