In engraving technology, Melamin refers to a laminate board based on melamine resin. It is designed for demanding industrial engraving applications as well as for name, designation and information signs, and its age resistance makes it suitable for permanent outdoor use as well.

Construction and Properties
Melamine resin laminate boards are produced by pressing resin-impregnated carrier layers under heat and pressure. The result is a robust, dimensionally stable board. A key characteristic is also the material's age resistance: it allows permanent use outdoors as well, where signs must withstand weathering over extended periods.
